What is actually covered in this app?
A lot. The app steps you through important knowledge and training steps, not unlike apps designed to teach foreign languages. Besides giving you immediate help based on your circumstances, the app uses five levels to bring you up to your best ability to make lasting changes in your patterns of eating. Level 1 covers basic skills of telling the difference between physical hunger versus urges to eat based on emotions, external cues (seeing or smelling tempting food), or conditioned eating, including sugar addictions. Level 1 also gives you ways of increasing willpower to deal with those urges. Level 2 addresses specific techniques for dealing with mood, reframing your thinking about food, defeating food addictions, and general enhancement of self-esteem. Level 3 is all about learning and coping with the triggers that are generating urges to eat, including mood states, influences of flavor, stress, boredom, and even the fear of wasting food. Level 4 is all about time-restricted eating and intermittent fasting. These techniques are extremely popular but are difficult to master. Level 4 explains the thinking behind them and shows you how to make them part of your healthy eating patterns. This is an optional level, however. The techniques haven't been fully demonstrated to be effective and they aren't for everyone. Level 5 is the maintenance level. A level 5 user has the skills to build their own maintenance program. Here you choose for yourself which videos and other devices you want to deal with remaining eating issues. Users can skip levels, return to previous levels, etc. by going to Settings.
