Do I have to enter information in the app before I start using it?
You can use our apps right away without entering anything, but as soon as possible, you should explore the personal support section of the app to enter helpful material. For example, record a goal statement and/or a message to yourself in the Personal support section. You can ask important people in your life (spouse, significant other, family members, therapist, sponsor, etc.) to do the same. You can also select photos that are meaningful for you, inspirational thoughts or prayers, and, importantly, we believe, you can select music to help you cope. See our blog entry for more information about this section of the app: https://willpwr.ghost.io/hanging-in-there/
In WIllpwr+EE, our app about healthy eating, it's a good idea to give yourself a nickname in the Settings area. You can also enter an initial weight by using the little scale icon at the bottom of the main screen if you plan on tracking your weight changes, but that's optional.
In the Willpwr+SE app, ou can go to the Settings area and enter specific addresses that you know to be high risk locations, that is, places where you are very tempted to act out. If you don’t enter a specific point, the app will track where you are slipping or are reporting urges, and the app will build a profile for you of your high risk areas. By the way, label your home address and your work or school address using the “picker.” All other addresses should be labeled with the picker as High Risk. That way, we don’t bug you with a warning each and every time you are home or at school/work. (Only the SE app does this -- the eating app doesn't use geofencing and doesn't pay attention to where you are).
In Settings you can also control the speed and accent of our Siri-like reading voice when text messages are delivered.
